A Black Sea Miracle!
Hazelnuts are ripe in August, and then prepared in September and October after they’re picked and dried. Turkish hazelnuts are categorized into two in terms of quality: Giresun and Levant. Giresun hazelnut is superior with its taste and amount of fat. It is grown in the province of Giresun, as well as Beşikdüzü and Vakfıkebir towns located in Trabzon. Levante hazelnut contains less fat. It is grown in several provinces of Turkey, namely Trabzon, Ordu, Samsun, Bolu, Sakarya, Zonguldak and Bartın.
